» GUESS WHAT?!
Guess who's got tickets to the Iraq-Brazil football game (next week - 11/10)?
I DO (or we do!)!
Oh the excitement!
There's a funny story behind it.. Or maybe it's not that funny.
When we first heard about the game, we flipped. My first thought was; Brazil here in Malmö? I knew that I had to go and watch it! And then Iraq too? I'm not their biggest fan, but still..
The thing is that no one knew when and where the tickets would be sold.. The first thing that we came up with was Ticnet, of course (it's a Swedish online site that sells tickets - basically). But there was nothing on there either about the game.. Then I went to their Facebook page to see if they had more information there - but no..
So when my sisters best friend told her (you know who you are..) that the tickets would be sold the next day, AT the stadium where the game would be held, I immediately rushed over there to get them.. The funny thing is that 2 buses and a circle around - and inside - the stadium, I began to realize that the tickets weren't to be found there.. So that's when I got smart and called Ticnet. Of course, I had to wait for 10 (or more) minutes for them to talk to me - even though I was "first in line".. The lady told me that the tickets were to be sold the following week (?) at 9.00.
When that date came by; me, B and M had made up a scheduele on what time we (or B - since me and M had school/uni early.....) would be ready to log on their site and buy the tickets.. The thing is, we didn't want to pay "extra" for chairs.. "It's a waste of money", we said. So we bought tickets to stand up.. Imagine standing up during the whole game?!
Anyhow, after many talks with several people, a quick thought on what we had to wear to be comfortable standing up so long - we decided to upgrade our tickets. And now we are gonna sit; I can assure you that it's not a waste of money!
Sorry for the super blurry picture.. It's just that it contains way too much personal information.
Is anyone of you lovelies going to the game?

» A PICTURE FROM MY LIFE
My scrapbook equals every single moment (almost) of my life.. And most of the pictures (and the text!) is very inappropriate.. Let alone, embarrassing.
With that being said, I found ONE PAGE (or one picture) that I can show you guys. One of the few normal pictures in there..
Translation: 'Blogger(ess) Laila. "Hey hey blog..." (or....? *wink wink*)'
Well didn't that sound weird in English? Answer: YES!
Next up in my sceduele - Gossip Girl and studying ♥
But before that I want to thank M and B for the best (or one of the best gifts) I've recieved in my life. It's definitely in my top 10 favorites (ranked pretty high up - number 2. What's number 1? Something very dear to me, that you guys might get to see one day..).
I love you girls! xxxxx

» WEDDING FAIR
The day after my party, I went to a wedding fair with a bride-to-be, B and Mona. It was beautiful! It almost made me - oh, who am I fooling.. It did make me want to get married! :')
All the dresses, the cakes, the pictures - everything was amazing. And we got to taste some cakes - yum! (not all of them were that yummy to be honest.. That was a disappointment).
Even the stamps were wedding-y! (hearts=love=wedding ? yes, no?)
The bride-to-be :')
Ballet-show-cinderella-story-telling before the fashion show..
One word. Gorgeous!
I like this one..
Gorgeous? YES!
Too much white :'')
And we had way too much chocolate (exaggerating)..
Ok, I LOVE LOVE LOVE these!
My obsession for cupcakes is obvious. They are so pretty!
A tiny cake sample.. By Ultimate Cake
And food tasting! (Or eating!)
If you have the chance, you should go to a wedding fair. It's a happy atmosphere (people getting married is certainly not a sad thing - in most cases), yummy cakes, gorgeous dresses and lovely company ♥

» EIGHTEEN
I haven't blogged for a while - I'm fully aware of that! But these two weeks have been very hectic.. Had my first exam the day after my bday, planned a bday party (black and white!), went to a wedding fair and much much more! And I've been (still am) sick - fun? Oh yeah!
Since a picture says more than a thousand words; here you go!
My family and best friend "surprised" me (I woke up way too early!) at 8 (?) - too early, yes! - with
yummy muffins, candles, singing and presents! (I will show you the presents in another post!).
Delicious breakfast made by la familia! I should've taken a closer picture of everything..
Our tradition! (Mine, Monas and B's). When we were children, we promised each other to make
scrapbooks to each other when we turn 18 - and this time it was my turn! Two down, one to go! Haha.
From the black and white party!
Cupcakes made by me! The cupcake thingies were supposed to be black and white, but they didn't
turn out the way I planned; so I used pink ones instead!
These look heavenly.. Wedding-ly.. And with pearls! I love pearls!
The candy (or should I say chocolate) that I picked out!
Some of the candy that my sister picked out (I don't really like candy.. That's why we had the chocolate!)
What's a themed party without flowers?
Cause what's a bday without balloons?
Welcome-drinks.. Pommac all the way! (Non-alcoholic, ofcourse... Or?)
Food!
And the chocolate cake - made by me.. It looks a bit odd.. Don't you think? Btw. the picture was
taken when the lights were out - hence the flash.
I wish I could upload more pictures from the party - the theme was all over everyones outfits! But I can't since the pictures are not blog-friendly. (My outfit will be detailed in another post!).

» DANCING QUEEN - ONLY SEVENTEEN
Not for long!
When I turned sixteen, it was "16 @ war". Seventeen - "Dancing Queen". Anything for eighteen? LOL (lame? YES!).
18=
- Drivers license.
- Energy drinks (even though I hate energy drinks, I can now - officially - buy as many as I want!)
- Cigarettes (I don't smoke - won't ever smoke. But you gotta keep your options open, ya kno? LOL).
- Partyyyyy! (halal way!)
- Get to vote!
- Get into deals!
- Shop (legally) online.
- Get married.
- Can get into prison......
- Be treated as an adult (?).
Not many hours left until I wake up as a grown up.. And not many hours left until I actually turn 18.
All my fellow Arabs would understand this picture.. Celebrating your bday before your actual bday.
Oh the glory! And with a cake! Laila written in arabic on it. And yes, I cut the cake before remembering
to Instagram.. or blog!

» FAMILY FRIDAY
Studying. Driving school. Studying. Break. Studying.
That's how my day has been. The funny thing is that I'm getting more and more interested in my studies - mission accomplished!
I just have a few things left to study and then I'm done for today! I'm only going to (or I'm planning to) just look through everything tomorrow so I can be free on Sunday. After all, it IS my birthday (18th woop woop? I'm going to be extremely depressed.. Just sayin') on Sunday!
A couple hours ago I had a lovely study break; was chillin' with la familia and having pineapple and melting chocolate!
What have you lovelies been up to today? X

» I BELIEVE IN PINK
Oh how I want to write down every single feeling and thought that's been going on in my head - and that's keeping me from studying. But I can't.. That's why I should've stayed anonymous..
Anyhow, I wanted to share this picture with you guys - it's better than complaining and whining about other things.
Good night pretty ladies! ♥

» TYPICAL ME
In the midst of a huge exam, I can somehow fit in "feeling sorry" for myself.. And therefore watching episode after episode of Gossip Girl. I don't think I've been facinated this much by the series before - I mean come on. We all know that I've went through several GG marathons during the past couple years..
I've cried and laughed (I might have exaggerated that a bit!).. My excuse? I don't have uni tomorrow aaand I can't study during daytime.. Maybe that's why I love owls? Ok. This is not making any sense..
What are you guys up to? ♥
(This is supposed to be a "study break"..).
Yogurt, raisins and bananas - yum! And it's a healthy treat! Why have chocolate when you can have
raisins? Who am I trying to fool.. But this is delicious!

» GLAM BREAKFAST
Am I the only one that feels so extremely glam - and very old Hollywood - when I stroll around (at home) in a kimono? (and I feel a biiit Japanese too! LOL).
So I made myself a breakfast - a perfect start of the day!
Next? Studying. Not so glamorous!

» AN ESCAPE FROM REALITY
Whenever I feel down, or want to think of things other than my everyday life - I seek comfort in Gossip Girl (or any other series, like Charmed). They've got their own problems in GG, that makes it easier for me to forget about mine - or at least an attempt to forget about them, just for a short time.
Now I'm declaring my official love for the series, here, on the blog.

» TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?
When I was on the shopping spree with my sister yesterday, we found a very odd sale at Bikbok.. On the Whitney Port sunnies and some gorgeous bracelets! So we had to get something..
I've already worn every item and all I can say is; I am in love with those spikes and the gorgeous granny-ish sunnies!

» TRYING TO BE SANTA
What should have been an early breakfast date ended up as a late breakfast (not quite a brunch). Meeting up with five other girls can be a bit tricky since we all don't come on time (eh. most of us don't).
So I started the day with a lovely breakfast and we took shifts trying to be 'santa'. Believe it or not, we haven't handed out our graduation gifts (because of some shipping problems with some gifts - not mine!).. Three months late is better than never, right?
Then I met up with my sister to find the puuuurfect birthday dress - will have a b-day party for my 18th (woop woop! I haven't sent out the invitations yet!!) and I was looking for a dress that fits in with la dress code/theme. Didn't find anything though.. BUT we realized, after an exhausted shopping spree, that the perfect dress was already in my closet!
In the middle of the "find-out-the-perfect-dress", we met up with my mom and had lunch. Then had 'fika' just before coming back home! Will you guys believe me if I say it has been a long day?
Anyhow, I found some great stuff - will show it to you tomorrow (or technically, today - since it is past midnight!).
Yes, I am addicted to Espresso House..
Too much food-ing (making up my own words because I'm
cool like that!).

» STRESSED?
If you've been following my blog since the beginning, I wrote a post about STRESSED=DESSERTS (when I first started blogging=ages ago!)
. And when I was 'fika'-ing with my sister yesterday I remembered it!
Whenever you're STRESSED treat yourself with some DESSERTS. Cliché? Maybe, but it's a wise saying (LOL!).
PS. I'm such a hypocrite getting something from Starbucks. BUT, to my defense, I did get them from Ica Maxi (=a Swedish response to Carrefour LOL. It's a supermarket..) - apparently they sell Starbucks Macchiatos and other good stuff.

» CHANGES
The main reason I shut down the blog for a couple days is because I absolutely hated the way it looked.. After a sleepless night and eight hours, I present to you the layout.
If I've learnt something it's: patience is key. Without patience you won't succeed well in life - being very unpatient I'm the wrong person to say this hahah! And without patience, I wouldn't be able to create this.
To be honest, I never knew it would be this difficult to read different codes and fit pictures and background together and what not. All I can say now is that it wasn't easy, but I'm happy with how it turned out! :D
I hope you guys like it as much as I do.
xx
UPDATE: If there is something odd, or something that's bothering you about the new layout - please do tell me! (I'd love some feedback).

» STOP ACTING?
Acting as if you like something when you actually would do anything to avoid it.. It's wrong, I know, but sometimes that's all you can do.
To all of you in a situation like this; keep standing up - keep fighting. And keep that smile on your lips. BUT, don't be afraid to let your guards down every now and then to question the situation. Living like that for a long time can be quite difficult - let alone, depressing..

» RED CUP, YELLOW NAILS AND FACE
Getting sick is not exactly a good way to start off school year, is it? That's how I'm starting it.. Tea, TV and sleep will be my cure!
Aaaand I will have to study a bit too - gaahh!

» DANCING IN THE RAIN
I've talked about this on and off - how people don't seem to appreciate each other.. It almost kills me when experiencing it and it breaks me when seeing other people experiencing it.
Not being appreciated by, let it be a friend, classmate, fellow citizen etc etc, is not the best thing you can go through. But "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning how to dance in the rain."
You know what I mean, right? When you put your all in that friendship, help people with different things - but get nothing back. Nothing.
What I'm trying to say (being a bit of a philosoph today I see..) is;
"Never allow someone to be your priority while allowing yourself to be their option".
Because it's not worth it.. It's your life. Your choices. Your priorities.

» FRIENDS COME AND GO
Friends come and go, but sisters are here to stay. I honestly have no idea what I would have done if I didn't have a sister - not ANY sister.. MY sister.
It's difficult to let anyone fill in a sisters shoes - not that anyone would ever want to switch out their best friend.. (well, not counting the fights!).
Anyhow. I wrote just to say how thankful I am, being blessed with a wonderful sister (and best friend)!

» THIS IS IT
Today, my lovely readers, is the day we've all (in Sweden at least) been waiting for - for years! We are always rushing with growing up, and don't usually hold on to our childhood as long as we should - or as long as we can.
Girls can't wait to be able to use makeup and guys, well, they can't wait to start cruising around (OK, girls can't wait to cruise around either, but you get my point!).
Now, while I'm in the middle - not a child, yet not an adult (18 soon, woop woop!) I can't help but think back to my childhood memories, first day(s) (transfers, anyone?) of school, making new friends etc etc. So that's what I'm going to do now too. Start a new school, a new life and get to know other people - people that I might or might have not hung out with five years ago.
Good luck today everyone! Show everyone your lovely self and everything will go just fine! Xx
