» SKINCARE

I love this lipbalm. So random haha.

There are a million other things I should do right now. Like study and reply to work emails..
But I decided to go and get a package - because come on, who doesn't procrastinate?
I recently ordered a couple skincare stuff (they also sent a few samples!), so I'm super excited to try them out.
Btw, the Kiehls face cream is absolutely amazing. I love it.

Let me know if you guys would like an in depth review on the products.

» WHAT'S IN MY (TINY) BAG?

I love bags. And I've built up a kind of large collection of them throughout the years.
The only downside: the ones I'm completely obsessed with are tiny. This means that I can't carry around my usual shit in them. So what can I fit in my small bags?

Phone (obviously), perfume, concealer, mascara, lipliner, powder + brush, lipbalm and lipstick.
Sometimes I can even squeeze in some gum!

What do you guys carry around?

//

» MEET MATT(E)

This is my favorite eyeshadow palette at the moment. I use it for my eyebrows too (Matt Wood)!
It's got the perfect range of nude colors, and my absolute fav is the orange-y/brown-y/burnt color (Matt Singh).
So pretty in the crease with brown eyeliner (MAC Espresso is gorg) and mascara.

I haven't really experimented with makeup a lot lately. It's not like I can go to class with a cut crease or a crazy winged liner (..or can I?).

What's your fav eyeshadow palette?

» BTS

So this is currently happening. I wasn't able to write a post about the products yesterday.. But the concealer favs should be up this week!
I'm thinking about going through each category once a week, and then finish it up with my absolute favs -
one from each category.

Would you guys be interested in that?

» ANGEL OR REBEL?

Ever since I started using MAC products, I saved the empty bottles (or containers), in the hopes of one day 'Back to MAC' them - and get a lipstick (there is, sadly, no 'Back to MAC' program where I live). So when I went to Poland a month (!) ago, I brought along twelve empty containers and left the store with two lipsticks; Rebel and Angel.
Can you imagine how happy I was?

Never throw away empty bottles; you never know if you can get one (or two) lipsticks for them!

» EYEKO

I'm obsessed with Eyeko mascaras. Never before have people, strangers even, complimented my lashes - all thanks to this increadible product.

Naturally, I've got long, but kind of straight lashes. And I don't really use an eyelash curler because I believe it ruins the lashes (I use them on special occasions though) - so if you curl your lashes after applying mascara, do that behind my back. But this mascara changed my life completely. I barely wear eyeshadow or eyeliner (everyday) anymore, and if you know me, that should come as a surprise.

I got the Eyeko skinny brush mascara first. When I first used it, I wasn't impressed but I decided that I should give it a few tries. Thankfully! Because it was very wet when I first used it, but after a few times, it got the perfect dry (not too dry) formula that I love in mascaras. It's completely water resistant, so it's a pain to get off at night, but so worth it. I haven't experienced any damage to my lashes because of it being water resistant. And the brush is amazing - really lifts my lashes up and lengthens them.

A few weeks later I thought that I should give the Eyeko curvy brush a try as well, because I seriously love the skinny brush. I'm not impressed with it. The formula is amazing, just like the skinny brush, but the brush itself isn't what I normally go for in a mascara. It transferred to my lid - I can't work with a brush like that. So I use the skinny brush instead of the curvy one (but the curvy tube, if that makes any sense).

They come with shields, which I don't really enjoy using.

The skinny brush

The curvy brush

The best part; the tube is squeezable, just like a toothpaste tube, so you'll get to use
every last bit of product.

It's a product I'll definitely re-purchase and I think that you should give it a try. You'll be surprised at how your lashes will look. (I would've included pictures of my lashes, but I have no idea how to take them without looking stuck by a bee).

» CELEBRATING IN COLOR

Yesterday I hit up the streets of Malmö - haha. As my sister puts it, when we don't find any clothes, we turn to dress up our faces. I've gotten sooooo much makeup during the sales, it's insane.
Since Matas is closing up, they were having 50 % off everything. Sadly, I put the trip to the store off until yesterday, which means most of the things were sold out. Mascaras included. So I walked out with the goodies above.

I don't usually splurge on high end makeup products - beauty products aside. But I couldn't resist grabbing these beauties above. Blushes from Dior in 566 Brown Milly and 889 New Red, and lipsticks from Chanel in 45 Caractére and 117 Magnolia. I'm so excited to try these out today. Mainly because they packaging is adorable, and because I don't own makeup products from either brand.

I also got an eyeshadow stick and a color correcting concealer, but I'll include them in another post.
Let's pray that these products won't disappoint. Also, do you want a New Years eve outfit?

» APOCALIPS BY RIMMEL

I'm very late (with an emphasis on very) with reviewing these (considering I got them last year!). Better late than never - should be coming from the never-posting-blogger-wannabe, haha.

Lately, I've been into lipsticks. This could be because I honestly can't bother cleaning my makeup brushes, so lipsticks and layers of mascara are my new go-to's (sounds so fancy).
These lipsticks/lipglosses/lip-heavens are by Rimmel, and they are ah-mazing!
They're a mix of lipstick and lipgloss, which means that they are super pigmented, they don't dry or crack your lips and they stay on beyond eating. What more could you wish for in a lip product?

Although, I have to point out that I always use them with a lip pencil, they're still amazing. And that I might not use the fuschia color as much.

Have you tried any good lip products recently?

» BEAUTY BLENDER

On the left: damp sponge. On the right: dry sponge.

I've been using the Beauty Blender for the past few months, and I'm in love. It's easy to use and leaves your skin looking like skin, which is why I prefer it over my usual foundation brush.

It should be damp defore you use it, in order for your product to not get soaked into the sponge. And I usually just squeeze it while running it in water, squeeze it dry and then wrap it up in a paper towel and squeeze it again. The sponge gets larger when it's wet (on the left above). And then it's ready to use.

Since you have to wet it before you use it, you can cleanse it every day, which I find to be the best thing about it. And it makes makeup application quicker. The downside is obviously the price - but I have to say that it's totally worth it.

» HAVANA

I'm not the biggest lipstick enthusiast as I have super dry lips, which makes me neglect lipstick and pile on lipbalm (usually Vaseline - best product ever!). Also, I never wear dark lipstick; I've always been a smokey eye kind-of-girl.
But with my hectic uni assignments and reports, I've stuck to only wearing mascara on my lashes (duh. where else would you wear your mascara?), no eyeshadow or liner.

When we went out yesterday to celebrate my cousins 21st, I decided to stick to my hardly-any-makeup-on-my-eyes mantra and do a dark lip. And I love it!
My teeth have never been super white, but with this lipstick (hence to the blue undertone), they look whiter. This is definitely going to be my go-to fall look - so much easier than a smokey eye! And, the lipstick didn't wear off - could it be because of the insane layering? Maybe.

Do you have a favorite go-to product?

» THERAPY

Since my weeks have been hectic with family flying in, projects and upcoming exams; I haven't been able to physically shop. In the midst of all the studying, I decided to shop online. Bad decision.
You see, the things I've featured above aren't the only things I've shopped.. I ordered from various sites and it all turned very therapeutical.

The reason I turned to online shopping in first place was because of the Institut Esthederm Eve Serum. I had searched high and low in many pharmacies all around Paris trying to find it - can you guess if I did? So I found it on beautybay.com instead - oh the joy! The Naked palette is another story..

Do you have any favorite online shops? If so, let me know!

» INNOCENCE

I'm a nailpolish junkie. I just can't stand my hands when they're un-nailpolished (hello new word!).
Lately, I've been into reds and nudes. So when I found this pretty color by China Glaze, I just couldn't resist!
Although it's super sheer (I'm wearing three coats in the picture and applied a forth coat now), I really love the color and it doesn't streak. Also, if you don't have much "nail-space" (seriously, what's up with my choice of words?), you'll probably love the brush - it's thin compared to other brands.

I also really enjoy fun beauty product names. I mean, Innocence is just perfect for this one!

» BLEACH

To start off; this bleach reminds me of my early teens. I mean, let's face it - I'm Arab. While other girls were painting their toes, I was bleaching my hair.
I absolutely hate facial hair. Even the teeniest tiniest amount - it should be non-existent. Unless you want to sparkle in the sun and pretend that you're a vampire. In that case, go ahead.

Eventually I stopped using bleach and learned that wax was my bff (but that's another story). And also, that only vampires should sparkle in sunlight - so long, Edward.

As I was filling in my brows the other day (yup, I joined the brow-filling cult a couple years ago), I was being careful not to fill them in too much cause they're already pretty full and super dark. That's when I figured that I should bleach them. Hello? Experimenting with different brow shapes? I was sold!
So I ordered Jolene (which btw was on sale).

Today when I woke up I was determined that it would be the day that I would bleach my brows.
And that's what I did.

Do I look like a sick frog? Yup.
Did I fill them in like crazy to try looking like a healthy human? Yup.

My brows turned copper.. Like proper Cu copper (hello chemistry). I'm gonna wash them with silver-shampoo tonight and pray that it will mute the brassiness down a bit.
Other than that, they look great when they're filled in (light brown). The problem is when I'm not wearing any makeup. Halloween came early this year.

Have you experimented with bleach before?

» PRODUCTS

So I picked a few things up in Paris (stocked up on Bioderma haha) and a few things up here recently (yesterday. I'm just too excited to wait on trying them). And I figured that I want to review them because some of them I absolutely love (like the Naked 3. It's just wow). And the others I'll have to try out first.

My Paris post is slowly coming up. I've been super busy with work so I've literally haven't had time. But it should be up next week.

What have you guys been up to lately?

» SPA

Can you think of a better way to throw a bachelorette party than a spa? Didn't think so!
I was invited to participate in the bachelorette party of my cousins fiancé last week, and since it was a surprise party, she was "kidnapped" with a scarf wrapped around her eyes to surprise her (obviously).
Throw a bunch of half naked girls into the same room and all you get is bad selfesteem and gorgeous glowing skin.Totally worth it.

I think everyone fell in love with Ystad Saltsjöbad, and it's a place I wouldn't mind re-visiting again.

The wedding on the other hand, was held this weekend. Talk about an epic stress! If you're Arab or have ever been to an Arabic wedding, you know what I'm talking about. Arabic weddings are like a red carpet event, which means that you need all day to get ready. So when my friend asked me if we could hang out an hour the same day, I almost cried of laughter (okay, exaggerating a bit). Your hair, eyebrows, nails, skin, face needs to be taken care of, and if you're like me - always doing things either the day of or the day before, you're completely stressed. And if you're not Arab, my entire face (including my eyebrows), hair and nails are jealous. But thankfully, I've learnt how to get ready fast for occasions like these - my version of fast.

Lastly, best wishes and a big congratulations to the lovely couple!

» BABY LIPS

I've been obsessed with the Baby lips lipbalm from Maybelline.
I don't wear lipsticks anymore!

The texture of these balms is increadible. It's moisturizing, easy to apply and it doesn't crease or turn disgustingly white at the end of the day. Although you have to reapply it a couple times, I still absolutely love it.

I have it in this gorgeous pink color; Pink punch. Can we take a moment and appreciate the name?

No filters used. The color is gorgeous!
And can you see my tan? It came in a bottle - will be reviewed after a couple of uses.

I'll definitely purchase the red color in the line and I'm sure I'll love it just as much. And they're super cheap!
Head over to H&M to try them out.

» FOR THE LOVE OF SHADOWS

I used to dislike eyeshadows with sparkle or sheen; I was all about the matte look. But I've discovered the beauty of sparkly/shimmery/shiny (you get my point) shadows this year - I even got an entire palette of pretty sparkles (hint: it's loved by everyone and their mothers - kind of. Review on that later).

Shadows with a bit of sparkle brighten up my very dull and tired eyes on an everyday basis.. I basically pat it on with a big fluffy brush (sometimes a damp brush to maximize the effect on evenings), coat my lashes with mascara and I'm good to go (well, my eyes are).

And to be honest, some drugstore eyeshadows are as pigmented as high end ones - my personal opinion. But the downside is that they might crease, this one definitely creases, although that's nothing a primer can't fix (my DIY primer is actually pretty good - recommend trying it).

The color is beautiful and I wear it regularly. I'll definitely expand my collection of shiny shadows - they're gorgeous!

This one is by Maybelline and it's called Eyestudio in 105 Rose Tint

» GREEN JUICE

Aside from the deliciousness of this juice, it's got amazing health and beauty benefits due to the apples and spinach.

Apples have multiple health benefits. They are high in fibre, which makes controlling our weight easier because fibre fills us up. In addition to that, fibre increases the metabolism and cleans out our system, which is great for detox. Among the minerals in apples, iron help raising the levels of blood oxygen and also increases the metabolism. Red apples even boost up our immune system, specially when we're stressed out - because of quercetin, an antioxidant.

There are studies that have shown that drinking apple juice could keep Alzhaimers away, protect us from developing cancer (even skin cancer due to vitamin C) and decreasing the risk of diabetes. Having an apple juice a day might even prevent asthma. In addition to all the above, apples are great for the skin, they eliminate dark eye circles, cure dandruff and enhances hair growth.

Spinach, just like apples, is high in firbre which means that they are great for controlling our weight. This leafy green contains zink and magnesium which makes us sleep better at night, which relaxes our body. Magnesium even helps in boosting our lost energy in seconds.

Furthermore, spinach is rich in Lutein content, which prevents thickening of the walls of the arteries which reduces the risk of getting a heart attack. It prevents anaemia, as it contains iron, and it lowers our blood pressure.

Just like apples, spinach is great for our skin as it prevents acne and works as a sunscreen because of the richness of vitamin B which protects us from the harmful UV-rays. It's great for hair growth and fights hair loss.

Will you give these greens a try? (I highly recommend throwing them into a juicer as it turned out to be delicious!)

» PERFECT SHADE OF RED

During the short trip to Scotland, I came across a couple of Rimmel products and decided to give them a try.
Every girl needs an LBD, black pumps and of course; a red lipstick (haha!). So because of the lack of red lipsticks in my makeup kit, I picked this one up - and it turned out to be the perfect shade of red!

It's from the Kate Moss for Rimmel lasting finish collection, and it's got a beautiful sheen - it's definitely not matte or glossy.

The shade is in 111 Kiss of Life, which is a cute name.

It's opaque, which is always a plus! But since I haven't actually worn it full on red (except for when I tried it out), I don't know how it stays on. I'd guess that the staying power of it is like most lipsticks - you need to re-apply every now and then (but I'll let you know when I've worn it full on).

That's pretty much how I wear it. More like a tint than a lipstick. Maybe I'll find the courage to wear a red lip someday in the future, but for now, I'm very happy to have found a perfect shade of red (liptint).

Have you tried the Rimmel lipsticks or found the perfect shade of red?

» DETOX WATER

Since I neglected water these past few days, due to traveling (I don't like water in other countries), I've tried drinking as much as possible when I came back. Dehydration? YES!
That was the reason for this detox water - it's very hydrating!

I put cucumber, lemon and lime slices in my water - and ice - and with a fun straw, I'm ready to hydrate my body. It's delicious too!
